UK: Annual CPI accelerates to 1.8% in April

FXStreet (Łódź) - According to data released today by the National Statistics, UK annual inflation rose 1.8% in April, following 1.6% growth registered the previous month. Market consensus pointed to a 1.7% rise. On a monthly basis CPI ticked up to 0.4%, after rising 0.2%, slightly above forecasts of +0.3%.

Year-over-year UK Core CPI grew 2% in April, up from 1.6% in March and above projections of a 1.8% increase.
