US: Initial Jobless Claims better than expected, at 336K in Mar-17

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - US initial jobless claims rose from 334K (revised from 332K) to 336K in the week ending at March 17, still better than the expected 342K. Continuing claims of March-10 disappointed as it rose from 3.048M (revised from 3.024M) to 3.053M (consensus of 3.050M).

Canada: Retail Sales up 1.0% in January

Both the headline Retail Sales and the Ex-autos data rose and beat consensus expectations in January, at +1.0% (consensus of 0.9%) and +0.5% (consensus of 0.3%), respectively. December data was re-vised from -2.1% to -2.3 and from -0.9% to -1.0%, respectively.
