FOMC’s Lockhart sees two hikes in 2017

Dennis Lockhart (non voter, centrist), President of the Atlanta Fed, showed a more cautious approach at today’s speech, saying he expects the Fed to hike rates twice instead of three times this year, albeit at a gradual pace (which will depend on the performance of the economy).

Lockhart also added that the Fed’s policy has limits and is unable to solve micro problems or address structural issues.
