GBP/JPY jumps above 152.50, August highs

FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The Pound is currently trading higher across the market and there is not an exception against the Japanese Yen. After rising around 100 pips from 151.30 in the latest few hours, the GBP/JPY has priced above the 152.50 area to reach levels not seen since July 25 at 152.60.

Currently, the GBP/JPY is trading at 152.40, 0.45% positive on the day. The short term perspective is slightly bullish in the 15-minute chart according to the FXstreet.com trend index. Indicators such as MACD, CCI and Momentum are pointing to the north while the Stochastic is bearish.

If the pair holds above the 152.30 area, next resistances are at 152.50, 153.00 and 153.20. On the downside, supports are at 151.45, 151.15 and 150.65.

US equities in retreat after lackluster PPI data

The US stock market again pulled back Wednesday, unevenly trading at the opening with the advent of weak US data.
