Gold bullish bets rose in the last week

FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the speculators increased their overall bullish bets on Gold last week - March 31st to April 7th.

The non-commercial futures contracts of Comex gold futures totaled a net position of +100,757 contracts; up 20,738 contracts from the previous week’s total of +80,019 contracts. The weekly bullish positions rose by 10,312 contracts, while the bearish weekly bearish positions fell by 10,426 contracts.

Meanwhile, during the reporting time period, Gold prices advanced from USD 1183.20/Oz to USD 1210.60/Oz. At the moment, the metal is trading at USD 1204.70/Oz; largely unchanged for the day.

WTI strives for USD 52

WTI oil futures on the Nymex extends its upward moves in the European session, albeit failing every attempt to 52 threshold, tracking US CFTC report which showed the largest weekly gain in non-commercial net long (bullish) positions in the US futures market since 2011.
