Canada: Annual CPI rises by 0.4% in April

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - According to data released today by Statistics Canada, Canadian annual inflation rose 0.4% in April, following 1% growth registered the previous month. This result is lower than analysts' forecasts of +0.6%. On a monthly basis Canadian CPI fell 0.2% in April, after rising 0.2% in March, against expectations of remaining unchanged.

CPI – Core remained unchanged in April, after growing 0.3% in March.

Year-over-year Bank of Canada CPI Core climbed 1.1% in April, down from 1.4% in March. On a monthly basis Bank of Canada CPI Core increased 0.1%, following a 0.2% rise.

USD/JPY rises to test intra-day highs at 102.60

The Dollar is currently rising across the board and against the Japanese Yen, the Greenback has jumped to trade at intra-day highs at 102.60.
